About Nutri-Oasis Health

Nutri-Oasis Health was founded by me, Isabella (Ella) Read, after graduating in Nutritional Therapy with a first class BSc honours degree from the University of Westminster. I am a fully insured member of BANT (British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy). I am also registered with the CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council), the regulatory body for complementary therapists set up with government support to protect the public when providing one-to-one consultations.

About Me

I first became interested in how illness and health can be improved after discovering Ella Readthat my so-called IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) disappeared once I stopped eating wheat and gluten and started eating more fruit and veggies. But I had other health issues including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, repeatedly coming down with any and every bug doing its rounds (or so it seemed!), ghastly PMS and painful periods, debilitating muscle aches and joint pains (some due to Repetitive Strain Injury, others due to my joint hypermobility), and feelings of hopelessness and despair that I would ever be well again. You could say that I’ve been through the mill!

At 30 I got married but didn’t try for children until later. No success. Besides the the IVF offered us, I had no idea what else could be done back then. Now I do. As infertility is becoming more and more of an issue with couples today, I’m also passionate about helping you have a child. And a healthy child at that.

I really understand what it’s like to battle with a complex combination of chronic health issues. And, dare I say, get nowhere with standard approaches? I also know how wonderful it is to find answers and feel well again. My passion to feel empowered, and to empower others like you to find your answers, is what led me to be trained in Nutritional Therapy.

About My Training

My training is based on the principles of Functional Medicine. This approach looks at a person’s health issues from the perspective of a web of interactions impacted by their diet and lifestyle. While nutrition is certainly an important contributing factor in our health, so are lifestyle factors such as sleep, exercise, stress, environmental toxin exposure and even our relationships. Therefore nutrition and diet would naturally take centre stage, but I would also look at any of these other factors as applicable to you

My approach is always personalised to your individual situation. There's no one-size-fits-all approach at Nutri-Oasis Health.
